The Boston Open is underway in Natick, and the opening high-roller event has already created a compelling thread for the weekend: defending Open champion Edward Ahola and Abe Mosseri have reached the Super Jackpot final. Behind them, the official Open Championship list has grown to 50 registrations ahead of Friday's opening rounds.
Our October 29 check of the USBGF's event-specific lists found eight actual Super Jackpot entrants, 10 Women's Cup registrations and 50 Open Championship registrations. Across those three lists there are 60 distinct player IDs. That is a combined count for these three monitored events, not a final attendance total for the entire festival; other divisions and side events are outside this tally.
The registration picture
| Event | Official count at the check | Competition status |
|---|---|---|
| $1,600 Super Jackpot | 8 players | Six matches completed; Ahola–Mosseri final pending |
| Open Championship — ABT Division 1 | 50 registered | All listed at 0–0 before Friday's start |
| WWB Women's Cup | 10 registered | All listed at 0–0 before Thursday's start |
These are tournament counts from OTS, not the size of the fantasy candidate market. A registration establishes a place on the published list; completed Super Jackpot results establish who has already played. Open and Women's Cup registrations can change before their draws are finalised.
Super Jackpot: two wins each, one match left
The eight-player, 15-point single-elimination bracket has produced two unbeaten finalists. Mosseri, listed as Abraham Mosseri by OTS and under his established Abe Mosseri profile here, defeated Kit Woolsey and Ryan Rebelo. Ahola beat Roberto Litzenberger and John Veltri. The final was still pending at our check, so neither player is presented as the winner.
Rebelo and Veltri each finished 1–1. Woolsey, Litzenberger, Kent Goulding and Chris Trencher each finished 0–1. The official source identifies match winners but does not supply exact match scores or game-result types. On Bet On Gammon, the verified wins currently give Ahola and Mosseri 30 Super Jackpot fantasy points each, with Rebelo and Veltri on 15 each.
Players to watch
Edward Ahola
2025 Boston Open champion · 2026 Super Jackpot finalist
The Massachusetts player won last year's 67-player Open Championship. His 2–0 start in this year's Super Jackpot adds immediate form to a title defence that begins in the Main on Friday.
Abe Mosseri
Super Jackpot finalist · registered for the Open
Two straight wins have put Mosseri beside Ahola in the final. Both names also appear on the Open registration list, making their opening-week form relevant to Friday's fantasy draft.
Kit Woolsey and Chris Trencher
Super Jackpot entrants · registered for the Open
Woolsey arrives with the 2026 Viking Classic Open title on his record. Trencher won Boston's 2025 Super Jackpot. Both lost their opening Super Jackpot match here and remain listed for the Main.
Kent Goulding, Carol Joy Cole and the wider field
Tournament play, education and Women's Cup registration
Goulding has played the Super Jackpot and is scheduled to give Saturday's lecture. Cole appears on both the Open and Women's Cup lists. Other Open registrants include Matt Reklaitis, April Mesich and Tony Wuersch, listed on this site as Anthony Wuersch.

The Open uses MoreSwiss triple elimination: players stay in the Main until their third loss. For fans, that makes a strong opening run useful context rather than a guarantee of a long weekend. For fantasy managers, the Main draft remains a separate six-player contest with a 50,000 FC cap and one captain at ×1.5.
